The Tensiometer Vacuum Pump is Irrometer's ES service kit for the commissioning of tensiometers. The ES service kit consists of a vacuum pump, a bottle of Irrometer fluid, and a sphygmomanometer instruction manual.
The pump is equipped with a suction cup that adapts to all Irrometer blood pressure monitor models.
To connect, remove the cover of the Irrometer blood pressure monitor and connect the vacuum pump. Five or six quick strokes will give a vacuum gauge reading of 80 to 85 cb, which is the maximum obtainable. The pump will remain attached to the instrument without the need to hold it, leaving your hands free to lightly tap the main tube to release any air bubbles that form.
When breaking the vacuum, always proceed gently to avoid shocks or sudden recoils of the vacuum gauge needle. This is achieved by careful manipulation of the relief valve incorporated into the suction cup.
Periodically it may be necessary to disassemble the vacuum pump and clean its components in water. After drying, all components can be lubricated with a silicone spray.
