PREFILTERS

Description of PREFILTERS

Pre-filters are responsible for removing large harmful elements before irrigation enters the filters. If no pre-filtration occurs, the filter may be damaged. These components are installed in filtration systems that work with water from rivers or other places that can present high amounts of large particles.

At Mundoriego we have two types of pre-filters: brass filters and stone catchers.

The filters / pressure gauges / air valves made of brass have a “Y” shape. This type of filter has a mesh that prevents the passage of particles such as grit or traces of rust. Withstand temperatures up to 160º and pressures of PN16. The design of this type of filter means that the pressure drop is small and the material with which it is made is highly resistant to corrosion. Brass filters have thread diameters ranging from 1/2 "to 2.1 / 2".

Stone catchers are large filters that prevent large elements from entering irrigation systems. These filters have a mesh with larger perforation diameters than those of brass filters. In addition, the stone catcher filters have a deposit where all those sediments that cannot be filtered accumulate. The mesh of this filter is made of stainless steel, so it is resistant to the effect of corrosive chemicals.
