Vegetable species to plant in summer in the garden

In addition to telling you which are some of the most suitable vegetables for you to plant in these coming weeks, we will give you some tips on how to do it, so that you get shiny and juicy pieces.

Spinach

The cultivation of this green leafy vegetable is really simple. It is necessary to leave 20 cm between each of the seeds and ideally it should not be exposed to direct sunlight for too many hours a day, so the ideal is to protect it from high temperatures. Water it more abundantly in the first days and space the watering later.

As for spinach, sautéed with garlic sprouts, in an omelette, raw or boiled in a salad and even whipped to make a green juice, it is equally suitable.

Green bean

This requires a good space between seed and seed, of at least 40 cm. In this case we need the plant to receive enough sun both for it to grow lustrous and for it to have less risk of pests. At the same time, it would not be appropriate for it to receive gusty wind, as this is a quite sensitive vegetable. Be careful because, in addition, the bean plant requires tutoring, that is, tying to guide it.

Radish

The radish is ideal for planting in summer in the garden. In addition, its sowing is quite efficient, since it only requires 7 cm of space with respect to the next seed. These must receive direct sun and be planted in a very organic substrate capable of retaining moisture. Irrigation should be night and not abundant (remember that the soil will retain water).

You can eat them raw in a salad, as a garnish or even whole, as a snack, or pickle them; they are delicious!

Carrot

The carrot needs at least 10 cm of space between each of its seeds. It should be located in shade or partial sun and watered regularly (this is really important so that they do not crack). As for the substrate, loose and retaining water.

Make yourself raw carrot sticks for a snack. Roast it in papillote, use it in stews, grate it for salad...

Lettuce

Lettuce is ideal because there are many varieties, so you can alternate species and get a completely complete garden.

You can plant it in the sun but in the hottest hours you will have to find a way to shade it. Irrigation must be continuous and, eye, the ideal is to do one, abundant, during the night before planting.
