First of all, it is important to note that, in order to follow the next steps, we are counting on good winter maintenance. If so, as much as it may seem to you, the set-up of your pool will not be expensive at all.

1. Remove the pool cover

The first of the steps for setting up the pool is to remove its cover, clean it very carefully and let it dry in the open air. For safety, as well as to avoid losses due to evaporation and accumulation of dirt, it is important that we continue using it until the summer season arrives.

2. Clean the pool filters

The pool filters are one of the key parts of it, so yes or yes, they must be cleaned properly. This is done with appropriate chemicals. You also have to check the sand taking into account that if it is more than three years old, it must be changed necessarily.

3. Clean the bowl and the elements that are built into it

Another crucial part to check when setting up the pool is the pool and all the components that are integrated, such as the baskets, the grid, the skimmers or the overflow channel. It is recommended to clean them with pressurized water.

Cleaning the surface of the glass is recommended to be done non-aggressively. For example, sponges or brushes are totally discouraged. What is recommended to do to help make cleaning smooth is to use suitable descaling products. If you have underwater lighting devices, it's time to check them out.

4. Clean the bottom of the pool

You can use a robotic pool cleaner for this, although the pool must have at least 40 centimeters of water. Take advantage of this moment to check the springboards, levers or stairs, that is, if they are in perfect condition. If so, you'll just have to clean them.

5. Fill the pool

It is time to fill the pool with water. Once you do, a shock treatment is recommended to eliminate germs, bacteria and other contaminating residues with the idea of doing preventive work and avoiding the development of microorganisms that can generate bad odors or be harmful to the skin. Finally, analyze the pH of the water. It has to be between 7,2 and 7,6. To adjust it, you have products on the market that will help you reduce or increase it according to what you need.

If you have followed these tips, your pool will be more than ready to face the summer and to welcome you when you want to cool off. As you can see, it is not a complicated process. The key is that we carry out good maintenance throughout the year.
